GRAVITY - an L. A. based group for the last twenty five plus years is on a mission. Baby boomers all, they are determined to bring their music to their contemporaries, all seventy million of them and their families.
When you come to a GRAVITY performance you will see families and people of all ages and ethnic groups because their music is ageless, timeless, and colorblind. They believe music should not only entertain, but should uplift, inspire, and perhaps, even ennoble us. To this end, they dedicate their God given talents.
GRA VITY is a trio comprised of vocalist and keyboardist, Clydene Jackson, vocalist and guitarist, Harold Payne, and percussionist, Oliver C. Brown.
Clydene is a two time winner of the NARAS MVP Best Female Vocalist Award and has been heard coast to coast on network TV and radio and in movie theaters around the world; from Spiderman to American Gangster, her voice is there. She has worked with some of the world's leading artists including Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson, Michael McDonald, and Don Henley. She sings with grace, elegance, and passion; her voice has a direct connection to her soul.
Harold has had many of his songs recorded by acts as diverse as Patti LaBelle, Rod Stewart, and long time collaborator, Bobby Womack. Literally, from Peter, Paul & Mary, to Snoop Dogg, Harold has a song for everyone. He has played just about every imaginable venue - from amphitheaters to community theaters and from the House of Blues to house concerts. He is the consummate troubadour.
Oliver officially began his music career as the house percussionist for TK Records in Miami, which led to him becoming one of the original members of KC and the Sunshine Band. He subsequently left Miami and moved to L.A., and began doing session work where his very first was with Nancy Wilson. That was the springboard to many other dates with various Motown artists including Jermaine Jackson and Billy Preston. He has toured with headliners Leo Sayer, Al Jarreau, and Fleetwood Mac. Oliver is a master percussionist and brings a physical excitement to GRAVITY.
